The food was outstanding. Six of us stopped based upon a recommendation from a local person. I think everyone ordered something different and not a person was disappointed in what they ordered. I had fried shrimp and fried oysters. The oysters were large and fried perfectly. The best I have had in years. Others ordered fried catfish, pork chops, and stuffed crabs. Be sure to get the sweet tea.
The food was excellent, service was good and friendly. It is extremely popular and busy at all times

We live in Mississippi about 40 miles away but go as often as we can. It isn't a 5 star building (this is one of its draws), but the food is 10 star and the staff is wonderful. We love their fried crab claws. We would buy a lbs between the two of us and still have left over. Sadly the price has almost double, but every now and then we still get these great fried crab claws. The rest of their food is just as wonderful and very reasonably priced.
The seafood was fried perfectly catfish, oysters and shrimp. Not rubbery and over cooked. We had crab claws as appetizers also done well. Everything reasonably price and great proportions. The staff was very neighborly and efficient. It is not a fancy restaurant but a good place to stop in and have a nice lunch. If I were in the area again I would definitely dine in again.
This is some of the best seafood you will ever have in the south. The shrimp are fresh off the boat to the kitchen, the crab claws are huge, and the fish has great flavor. This place was absolutely packed, and now I see why. The creole red snapper was amazing, everything had great flavor and not too heavy. Even their ranch dressing was amazing. Wait was worth it, though we did get skipped on the waiting list, which is a pet peeve of mine.
As always, the best fried crab claws in Mobile and Baldwin County. Jumbo crab claws. Very nice waitress.
Driving thru the gulf coast, had to stop in Bayou La Batre for some fresh seafood. The Lighthouse is one of the more reviewed places. The service was great w all the southern hospitality you would expect. The fried shrimp was done perfectly, lightly breaded tasting, fresh and cook to perfection!.. probably some of the better fried shrimp I've ever had.
